Our guest speaker will be Chip Brown, candidate for President of the Public Service Commission in the April 24th Republican Primary Runoff.

Chip, 43, is a graduate of Fairhope High School and Troy University. He has served as Chairman of the Baldwin County Republican Party and State Chairman of the Make A Wish Foundation of Alabama. Following the tragic events of September 11, 2001, Chip enlisted in the Alabama Army National Guard and served on active duty with United States Central Command’s Forward Headquarters in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Following an honorable discharge, Chip continued his service to our nation as an Operation Enduring Freedom Military Contract Advisor to US Forces Afghanistan at the International Security Assistance Force Headquarters in Kabul, Afghanistan. Chip coaches youth baseball and soccer and is a Cub Scout Den Leader and member of the American Legion and National Rifle Association. Chip has worked first hand on economic development projects as a Commercial Real Estate Broker. He is a native of Baldwin County and lives in Mobile with his wife Aimee and their son Harry.

If elected, Chip intends to use the discipline, team-building and organizational skills he utilized while serving in the military to serve our state. “I am running for President of the Public Service Commission because it is time we gave the Public Service Commission back to the people of Alabama.” “During these tough economic times, the people of Alabama need a fiscally conservative Commissioner that will look at every decision and ask themselves what impact this will have on average Alabamians.”

The guest speaker this month will be Chuck Malone, Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court.

Chief Justice Chuck Malone graduated from the Cumberland School of Law on the campus of Samford University in Birmingham and practiced law for 20 years before being elected to the bench. As a successful attorney, he handled cases in both state and federal courts and represented individuals, small businesses, corporations, banks, and credit unions.

Chief Justice Malone is a lifelong Republican who was first elected to the bench in 2000 as a circuit judge and was re-elected in 2006. His colleagues twice elected him as presiding judge which gave him responsibility for the management of the courts. In more than a decade on the bench, Malone earned the reputation of being a tough but fair judge while presiding over thousands of criminal cases including capital murder, rape, sexual abuse and drug trafficking. In addition to his vast experience in criminal law, Chief Justice Malone also presided over all types of civil cases including medical malpractice, product liability, fraud, breach of contract, and accident cases.

In 2010, Governor Robert Bentley appointed Malone as Chief of Staff where he served as the senior most adviser to the administration. On August 1, 2011, Governor Bentley announced that he had appointed Chuck Malone as Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court.

Our candidate, Dickie Drake, spent 42 years serving his country in the United State Air Force, and now he wants to serve our state as a principled legislator. He is an honest conservative that believes lower taxes and less spending are the best ways to get our economy back on track.

His opponent is a liberal Democrat that wants to continue the policies of Barack Obama: more wasteful government spending and higher taxes. The difference has never been more clear. In order to get Dickie Drake elected, we are going to need your help. The Democrats have promised to do whatever it takes to win this race, and our efforts have to be just as strong. In fact, Democrats all over the state are utilizing Obama’s Organizing for America platform to make tens of thousands of call into the district for Paige. They have the head-start, and now we need to ratchet up our efforts!

Your commitment to go door-to-door will make the difference. Voters will respond to the message that we have had enough of the liberal democrats and their policies that are making our economy worse.
